A Jewish Comedy: Shiva is a time for immediate family to mourn the loss of a loved one - except in the case of Ruth, who, thanks to an obnoxious brother-in-law and overly emotional best friend, is about to realize that burying her husband was actually the easiest part of her day.

RUTH WEXELMAN: (50-60) Recently widowed; has to deal with her husbandís sudden, tragic death at the expense of her dysfunctional family. She tries to remain in a calm manner but has had enough with the secrets surrounding her in the time of need and finally letís everyone knows how she really feels.
LARRY WEXELMAN: (50-60) Is inappropriate with his behavior at the cemetery and at the Shiva House but thinks itís hilarious. He is the brother of the deceased Marvin Wexelman. During Shiva, heís the elephant in the room, which is demonstrated by the way he talks and expresses himself. Larry has a trick up his sleeve to take whatís "rightfully" his at the worst possible time.
ADAM WEXELMAN: (18-21) Is not bothered by the passing of his uncle Marvin and would rather get stoned at the shed in the backyard at the Shiva House then grieve with his family. He is more concerned about going back to camp and hooking up with girls. (Pretty boy).
BENJI WEXELMAN: (16-18) The younger brother to Adam, follows him around and behaves the same way. He goes to get high with him and explores adventurous activities in the shed at the Shiva House. He is an uncontrollable stoner, who giggles at everything, and ruins Ruthís property.
BARBARA GILLMAN: (55-60) Barbara is Ruthís best friend and strives to be the caregiver to Ruth at the time of need. She wants to make sure the Wexelman family is taken care of during Shiva, but instead of helping out the family, she annoys them, becomes a pusher. She is more visibly emotional compared to Ruth at the cemetery and at the Shiva House. Barbara tries to mean well during Ruthís time of need but ends up destroying a friendship.
SPENCER RAPPAPORT: (18-21) Is Adamís best friend who decided to tag along to pay his respects by smoking weed with the boys. Also more interested in going back to camp, and prove heís the better ladies man. Always trying to show up his friends.
RABBI ZEITZ: (50-60) Well spoken man but is easily distracted.
